I guess I could see that guy being okay, as long as he can actually act. Although, do you need to be a good actor to play Superman?

Well, there's 2 seperate characters there Clark/Supes......plus you have to look like you can kick some ass with your red undies showing on the outside.....so I'd say yeah, you better have a dorky, yet a better not fuck with me or I'll kick your balls and make them explode all inside your body look at the drop of a dime as well.

I hear Topher Grace from that 70's show is gonna be Jimmy Olsen.

No you don't, and he looks enough like Superman to work. Better then Cage at the least. I actually prefer this. The only person I can think of off the top of my head to play Superman, is already playing Batman in his next movie. So unknown works for me.

The kid playing Superman in Smallville would have been a great choice.....he's already got a head start...and Christian Bale is going to be one BMF when you see him as Batman.....just go to:

What a disaster that would have been. I remember when Cage was locked for the role a few years back and he was on the Tonight Show talking about it. I just thought "what the hell are they thinking" while displaying my Dubya face.

The Smallville thing wouldn't have been bad. And Bale will kick ass, as he always does. Nolan and Bale together is the best idea those fuck up's at Warner Brothers have had in a long time.

The Nick Cage thing though. I can't remember all the details, but that was when Burton was on the project right? As fucked up as Cage would seem, how about Keaton as Batman. I grew up on Keaton, Mr. Mom was my movie when I was 5, but it seemed ridiculous to have the Gung Ho guy as this bigger then life millionaire bad ass. I thought he was great, and the first two movies were the best superhero movies ever made at that point, with the exception of Superman. So maybe Burton would have done it well. But thank god Kevin Smith, and the Charlies Angels Guy got passed over. And thank God Beyonce Knowles is not our favorite black haired reporter. That would have destroyed decades of work in one swoop.

This is what Superman looked like under Tim Burton for that 98 film:

I'd rather they take the cast of Smallville and use the key players for this film (Tom Welling, Michael Rosenb... etc.) than recast for a film. The series is pretty much stuck in a "formula rut" at this point anyway,....and Michael is brilliant as Lex.
