Does anyone else find themselves listening to these songs frequently or am I a strange character? Its great to hear the origins of so many early PJ songs and Matt Cameron on drums is fantastic Despite the fact that Eddie is missing i think these are well worth a listen for all PJ fans. The demos are easily accesable on the net (but im not sure if im allowed to list the link). Listen and imagine if Matt was there from the start.
Track Listing: 7-up (?) Agytian Crave (Once) Dollar Short (Alive) Doobie E (Breath) E Ballad (Black) Evil E (Just A Girl/Girl) Folk D (?) The King (?) Richard E (Alone) Times Of Trouble (Footsetps) Untitled (?) Weird A (Animal)
Favourites include the slower version of Animal -Weird A, The King and Folk D.

i think i've heard them once or twice, to sort of cross them off my list and fill in a page of PJ history, but I've never found myself drawn to them (as opposed to something like the ten rough mixes, which I listen to a fair amount. I may like that version of release more than the original)

I used to listen to these a lot, but it's been a while. Thanks for the reminder. 7up and Evil-E are my favorites.
But I and find all the other songs fascinating. How Ed was able to come up with lyrics and vocal lines for these is just amazing. Like Matt said about Alive on VH1 Storytellers: "One of the amazing things about Eddie's talents is he's able to uh...his...his lyrics are... uh fit. I mean the way that they fit that piece of music, it was just absolutely perfect, melodically and the lyrical content. It just seemed to fit really good. He's able to do that... at such a high level. It's just insanely difficult...to do...that."
Great stuff. The Gossman Project and "Eddie's First Week In Seattle" aka "10/23/90 demos" (with the emrbyonic Yellow Ledbetter) get a lot of play here. Gossman Project is great driving music.

Here are your missing links:
7-up (pushing forward back -totd song) Folk D (remains untouched, what a shame ) The King (evolved in evenflow) Untitled (remains untouched, what a shame )
And yes, I like those Gossman demos. It has a rough feel and it's nice to hear how PJ has grown from there. I agree it's great to hear Matt on this (although not on all tracks, mike's friend and rockfords drummer Friel is on the slower ones) and it does shows what Stone was capable of these days. Back then he was the man with a mission, a mission that resulted in the band we know now.

It's Gossman, right? Not Gossam?
