3 Years Ago Today ,..................
Pearl Jam @ Borgata AC NJ
I too was there for that magical weekend, and I too stayed right inside the Borgata, and trated myself and my GF to all the extras in the Spa- massages, swimming, the whole 9. It was especially nice to be able to snag ourselves 2 Red Borgata posters ( thanks to the older securoity lady at the front who let my GF run upstairs to the merchandise booth before they opened up the gates & let that HUGE line in to go up the stairs ) , then immediately go throw them up in our suite before the show started.
this night was incredibe in an incredible sounding venue .
ace fucking frehely and the world premiere of GONE.

Before this show, the most I'd ever paid for any concert ticket was definately less than $100. I paid $700 for two floor tix to this show. Stupid? Yeah. Why did I do it? Well, because of a woman, of course (why else do men do ridiculous things?). I had just met this woman, she was awesome, and a HUGE PJ fan just like myself. We went to this show, had a great time. I allowed myself to fall into the 'friend zone' after the show though, and spent the next 5 months in misery. But all ended up well. Eventually I gathered the balls to ask her out. She said "no", but I was too persistent/crazy and got her to say yes after a month of harrassment. We're getting married next June.
So after all this was a great investment. Plus, as those of you who were there know, it was an excellent show.
My highlight for the show -- bragging about the fact that I predicted Present Tense being the opener, and then actually feeling the floor bounce when Do The Evolution started right afterwards. The crowd reaction for DTE is the exact reason I think PJ is the best live band out there. I'm not the nutty fan that says PJ is the greatest band ever, but I've been to a million concerts and never seen energy like that, and they routinely have (from what I see) the highest % of people totally into the show.
