So I've been pondering this. Prior to the start there was a warning: Tonight's episode contains graphic discussion of same sex marriage. Parental supervision is advised. Or something like that.

Anyways, my immediate impression was that this was a fantastic joke by the writers. Now I'm wondering if this may actually be something Fox felt needed to be inserted due to the current FCC situation. I'm still leaning towards the joke aspect, and I sure hope that's the real reason.

"Here's another shocker Marge, I like beer!"

It pretty much sucked, just like most new episodes.

The show needs to go back to its roots of being funny.

And as far as the little warning goes, I'm willing to bet Fox had that put on there to cover their taints in case someone actually flipped out when they found out Marge's sister is a gay.

The first 15 minutes were really good, but then it fizzled out.

The turnip truck gag was great.

Yeah, this seems to be a consistent problem lately with the show. It has maybe 5-15 minutes of good humor at the beginning, but the end of the episode just seems to drag.

It's definitely nowhere near what it was at it's peak, but the show still has it's moments and is better than most of the other crap on the major networks.

Holland, Michigan Tulip Festival?!?!?

I never thought I would see these words uttered on The Simpsons. One of the writers must have grown up in the same shitty area as I did.

Tonight, we had the following (clever) items:

"Charlotte's Dead" - bug repellent

and

"Colombia's Shame" - low grade coffee w/ a picture of a Juan Valdez type hiding his head in his arm...

There wasn't any same-sex marriage reference in this episode. Was there?

I can't remember. I was drunk.
