This was an exciting episode. Two characters died, Mary Ann and the Araz dad (i don't remember his name).
As soon as I saw that gun fall on the ground by the kid I said he was going to shoot the dad.
Looks like Tony is back for good (at least for the time being). I didn't expect him to stick around this long. Should be interesting to see if Michelle ever shows up.

OMG THE SECRET EVIL GERMANS FROM SEASON 2 REALLY ARE BEHIND IT!
I also like how 24 is using the same torture technique that killed him in season 2 on Audrey's limey husband. I'll bet he's all like "You know what, Tony Blair? This killed me like four years ago. But I got better. Too bad YOU'RE not 24!" And then he zaps his British gonnads and makes him cry and makes him say "football" instead of "soccer" and "fries" instead of "chips." And then he bones Audrey right in front of him.
Interesting, though, that we had almost a note-perfect recreation of a scene from Lost two weeks ago, with Behrooz, 24, and Navi in the laundry room. All we needed was friggin' rain.

i think the plot is thickening nicely, but i'm a little sick of people who know stuff just getting shot. i'm surprised they didn't give curtis more protection seeing as how he had a feeling there would be a trap.

explain this to me.
The villians in season two were rich white men, representing big business. They were looking to profit off of a new-kyoo-ler disaster on American soil, along with the subsequent war such a disaster would trigger. They were manipulating fundamentalist Muslims to carry out this plan. We were never really told who they were, just that one of them had a European accent.
When I saw the now-dead white guy working with the terrorists early on in the season, I wondered aloud if this had anything to do with the real bad guys in season two. After all, Marie Warner made the comment that "this is only part of it" or something like that. With Curtis' discovery, that evil white guys are at least involved, that looks more and more likely.
So after I made the above declaration yesterday, it occurred to me that Heller is really the mastermind behind all of this -- he's setting it up to engineer a war and increase his department's (the Department of Defense) budget and whatnot.

i doubt its the same people. and if heller ends up being a bad guy it won't make sense because then he would have put too much faith into ctu being able to find him before he was executed

The villians' motives in season 2 were never explained. But you're saying that it's not the same people, just similar rich white businessmen with seemingly similar motives?

CTU didn't save him. Jack Bauer, a member of the secretary's personal staff, saved him. Nonetheless, who says they were really going to "execute" him in the first place?

the 24 writers have a propensity to not only repeat themselves but also to not resolve things from previous seasons (i.e. who nina was really working for in season 1, those guys you mentioned at the end of season 2, etc).
it would have looked pretty stupid if they just decided not to shoot him after the big production, and it would definately be suspicious after they found out about the reactors.. i wouldn't be surprised if that's where the story does go but i think its illogical.

yeah i remember what you're talking about. and i can see that happening. we just haven't seen any of these european guys on the show so it's hard to say 'hey that guy is from season 2' or something.
