Trail of Dead Offer New EP as Album Teaser
As they travel the path to a new album, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead are doing a Hansel and Gretel and leaving breadcrumbs for us to munch on the way. One of those crumbs comes in the form of Festival Thyme, a new EP. The band will release it in the U.S. via their own Richter Scale imprint of Justice Records on October 21 on vinyl and digitally, while Superball Music will handle the album's CD and digital release in the UK and Europe.
Festival Thyme contains all new songs, including a peek at an alternate mix of a tune called "Bells of Creation" that will appear on the band's So Divided follow-up, due in January. In addition to the EP's CD and digital releases, there will be a U.S.-only 10" vinyl picture disc that replaces the track "Inland Sea" with a cover of the Replacements' "Within Your Reach". The 10" is limited to an edition of 3000.
Trail of Dead's only upcoming shows are appearances at ATP NY in Monticello, New York on September 21 and Fun Fun Fun Fest at Austin, Texas' Waterloo Park November 8-9.
UPDATE: The band also has shows at Houston's Warehouse Live on November 6 and Dallas' Club Dada on November 7.

Worlds Apart is a good album, but I have to be in a really strange mood to even begin liking So Divided. Who am I kidding though, I'll give the new one a listen. I keep thinking about the glory days of Madonna and ST&C.

I'm kind of done with this band. So Divided was all kinds of awful.
pretty much everything minus a song or two here or there post STAC has sucked
Jason needs to leave and start his own band
I'm not sure who I have less faith in at this point of ever being able to release another listenable album, Trail of Dead or Metallica .... guess I'll find out soon enough
I'll gladly be on the wrong end of an "I told you so" if this turned out to be true, i'm just not going to hold out much hope until I hear it for myself
