i downloaded a bunch of gifs and pics from some of the threads round these parts... and for some reason, i cant put them (or anything else!) into any folders on my computer so theyre piling up on my desktop.

i dont if this has anything to do with it, but you all should know that i just updated some stuff in the last two or three days, like firefox from v 1.6xxx to v 3 or something.

What OS are you using? Do you get an error message when you try to drag/cut-n-paste the files into a folder?

windows xp, and no i dont get an error message. it just looks as if it works, except that the file is still on the desktop and the folder remains empty.

Have you tried just rebooting your computer? That'd be the simplest thing to try first, if you haven't already.

Try to right click on the icon and "move to XXfolder." I had that problem before and it turned out I had gotten a nasty worm on my machine...hopefully that's not it...

It wasn't much of a bump. It was still on the first page.
