I really like this. Can you tell me more about it? Who sings it originally?

The song is originally from a band called Kino which was led by the sort of legendary (at least in Russia) Viktor Zoi, or, as I love to say, Виктор Цой, and it goes like that (bit different):

The video is the beginning of the film "The Needle" (Игла) which is where I heard it for the first time. Good film... well if you're able to understand Russian, that is.

Hey, I have a few of their songs. :o So, you know Russian I assume? I mean you could just be able to sing that song and not know the meaning but I doubt it. I've wanted to learn Russian for at least 3 years now.

Yeah I've had Russian in school, long long ago... I forgot a lot, I'm meaning to relearn it a bit but I don't really get to doing so.

That's really cool. Did you find it to be a hard language to learn?

Actually, not really. Grammar was a bit weird at the beginning and a lot to learn because there are too many special cases, but other than that, nah. On the other hand, I sort of have a thing for languages, so... if you're really interested I guess it's not too difficult.

Cool. I guess if I can learn some Arabic (need to go back to classes and learn more properly) then I can learn Russian.

Learning Arabic is pretty cool I've heard, for several reasons, one being that you're supposed to use different regions of your brain than usually when you're learning it.

I believe that regarding different parts of the brain. At first I couldn't get used to the reading and writing. To me it was just squiggly lines and such. It's great once you can look at the writing and read it...sort of.

:) I extracted the audio from the video file, there's a weird background echo, hope it doesn't sound too weird. The file is here: http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/11/3/ ... Zvesda.mp3

I hope that right click + save as works for you, if it doesn't, let me know.
