Man, that's weak. I hope he gets better, Chi is the man and Deftones are one of my favorite bands.

Also a weird thing to mention, Deftones were able to record their first album with money from a car accident their guitarist got into.

I sincerely hope he pulls through. that really sucks. to be honest though, up untill their last record, he was relatively useless as a musician. just kinda played along with the guitarist, who isn't that great either, no dynamics. they got much better with saturday night wrist.

Chi is currently still in a coma following an automobile accident in Santa Clara, CA. on November 4th, 2008. Deftones singer Chino Moreno stated "It deeply saddens me to inform you all that our brother Chi Cheng was involved in a terrible car accident last night. He is currently in a Northern California Hospital in serious, but stable condition. I am on my way up North right now to be by his side along with the rest of our bandmates and family. Chi is one of the strongest people I know, and I'm praying that his strength will get him through this. Please say a prayer for him as well."[1]

As of February 5th, Cheng remains in a coma. [2] Deftones also announced that the band will perform at Bamboozle Left in April, with their friend Sergio Vega filling in for Cheng on stage.

There is now a get well soon myspace card [1] that fans from all over the world can sign by posting a comment, - many fans and some rock celebrities have posted comments such as: "CHI is a GOD. CHI has touched my heart as an artist and as a human being. He has been put on earth to shed light on all darkness. I love CHI. Fact. He is a major contribution to mankind. My heart aches for him, his family, his friends, and his fans. CHI for life." Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit[3]
