This one made me say out loud at work "are you SERIOUS." It turned some head. This makes no sense. You've got a team that was starting to gell, making a run at the division title and learning some cohesiveness, so instead of allowing that to blossom, Ainge breaks off the ship's rudder and replaces it with The Wiggle. I mean, I like Antoine as much as the next guy (he's entertaining), but this is ridonkulous.

ainge has become my personal nemesis. how do you explain the logic in trading a guy (walker), trading for a guy (payton) but not even keeping him for a full season before trading him to get back the guy you traded earlier? you can't because its not logical.

It's being reported in Boston that Atlanta might release Payton so he can resign with the celtics. If so, i think this is a great move. Walker has only this year left on his maximum contract, so I see no harm in bringing him in to try to make a run in the east this year.

i would think hes going to sign with a contender, not the celts

NBA title? Hell no. But an Eastern Conference title contender? Yes. If they get Payton back they could be a dangerous team. You would have Pierce, Walker, Payton, Blount, and Tony Allen starting. Not to mention Lafrentz and Al Jefferson coming off the bench. Once Jefferson gets rid of the injury bug he will be great, and I think hes only 19 or 20. Time will tell.

Atlanta has next to nothing they are LA clippers east, I guess thier job is to continue losing for the draft picks, but they don't have anyone to put in Payton's place.
They keep expanding Cap Space good for the future I guess (much better than the Knicks anyway), but so far it hasn't put much talent on the court in the right places. Childress was a stupid pick where they took him. Luol Deng would have been much better there. Josh Smith is working out nicely though, he'll probably be here 3 years and then quit.
Oh well, at least we got rid of that fucking idiot Pete Babcock who aparently tutored Isiah Thomas in how to be a GM.
I can hear it now......The Atlanta Hawks select....John Koncak....fucking bastard Pete Babcock.
