I had read somewhere that he could do that, but it is about 1000X more impressive to actually see the finished product than it is to just hear that he can do it. I wish I lived in MN so I could vote for him.
Did anybody see Ventura on the Colbert Report a while back? He came off as a nutjob. I also heard him on Opie & Anthony some time ago, too, and he was trying to put forward the idea that the 9/11 attacks were a big government conspiracy. I think his last marble has been lost.

Franken Camp Claims Race Still Narrowing, Accuses Coleman Of Recount Shenanigans By Eric Kleefeld - November 24, 2008, 5:19PM
Is Al Franken actually gaining on Norm Coleman from the recount? That's what the Franken campaign just argued in a reporters' briefing -- and they accuse the Coleman campaign of gaming the system to cover it up.
The public numbers from the Star Tribune show Coleman's lead expanding, but the Franken camp says those numbers don't do justice to the real story. They say the Coleman camp is launching frivolous challenges of recounted ballots that ought go to Franken, taking them out of the count for now until the state canvassing board gets a look at them.
"It allows the Coleman campaign to keep an artificially-high margin in the recount, simply by issuing more challenges," said lead Franken recount lawyer Marc Elias.
The Franken campaign thinks it has an idea of what the numbers will eventually look like based on the opinions of the election workers at the individual sites where the challenges are made -- as opposed to the current status quo of a challenged ballot being taken out of the total entirely, pending review by the canvass board.
"The margin remains in double digits," Elias said. "In fact, the margin has narrowed since we were last together on Friday."
At any rate, this race won't be settled until mid-December at the earliest, assuming there isn't any further litigation after the canvassing board is done. So it's only going to get worse before it gets better.
What Norm Coleman is attempting to do here is not dissimilar to what Bush did in Florida in 2000. You do everything you can to stop the recount, or challenge ballots for any and all reasons, thereby making the "official recount total" show you with a lead. Then any attempts by Franken to get the challenged ballots counted are painted as "suing to overturn the election results".
This is an example of the kind of ballots that Coleman is challenging. Seriously.

from looking at some of those, it doesn't appear as though franken has a monopoly on rectitude.
sad (though not unexpected) to see what politics has become.
Quite frankly, I don't really have a big problem with any of the ballots on that page being challenged. The offensive challenges are the ones that Coleman is challenging because a McCain voter either voted for Franken, or even worse, voted for no one in the Senate race.

The Star Trib has nearly 600 examples of real challenged ballots on their website now. Nate Silver estimates that around 10% of the challenges (on both sides) are non-frivolous.
