Hey, a friend of mine came over to my house and recorded some songs (he used my place because I have a computer mic) and he wants some feedback from total strangers since, in his opinion, his friends don't want to tell him if he sounds bad, and if they do they're really cautious about how they say it. I personally think his guitar playing is decent(although there are a few mistakes) but his singing needs work (although this analysis wasn't "good enough" for him, so if you don't like his singing he wants some feedback on how to make it better). What do you guys think? Feel free to be as blunt as possible as this is what he wants. (Although try to ignore the production as I recorded it using sound recorder and I simply have a cheap-o WalMart mic)

If you want to hear more (I doubt it) there are a few more songs that I could upload to sendspace, but he's been wanting me to do this for awhile (not here, on other public forums) so I figured this would be best. A lot of the people here are brutally honest a lot of the time, so feel free to do so with him :haha:

Fair enough. How does one really practice singing though? If it sounds decent to him, how will he get better? Obviously it's easy to tell if you're playing the guitar properly, but it's less easier to train yourself to sing properly. Maybe he should go to a voice class or something (?). Do they have singing classes?

I think singing classes/ lessons are pretty much non-existent.
