My brother-in-law's brother was over my place playing music with me - he plays guitar, and i play drums. He lives on the other coast, but is in town for the holidays. He's a commercial actor, and was in a jeep commercial recently, and goes out for calls a bit.
Anyway, he didnt know I'm a huge PJ fan, and I was telling him about my few encounters with PJ...
and he said: "well, you know what's funny, the guy who directs the commercials I'm in is now a buddy of mine. His name is Josh, and..."
I interrupt and say: "Josh Taft?"
He says "How do you know Josh's last name?"
I said: "Well, I assume you were about to say him because he directed Pearl Jam's Evenflow video! His name is ON the video, and at the beginning of the video, Ed is say "Turn these god damn lights out Josh, this is supposed to be a rock concert"."

Years ago, 2003 to be exact, when I first started hangen around one of my good friends, Infact it was the first time we went out...
were hangen out, and all the sudden she gets a phone call... and shes on the phone for a bit... then hangs up... "yeah that was my friends from Sparta" And im like, SHUT UP? you know someone from Sparta??? she says yeah? and im like, dude, call them back up she asks why and i say "theyre opening for Pearl Jam right now, theyre on tour are they not? and shes looking at me all dumb? wtf are you talking about? theyre not touring? they arnt even playing anymore the drummer quit? so now im like, what are you talking about? theyre opening for Pearl Jam on this leg of the tour, they opened last night???
this continued on for a few mins before finally we realized... she was talking about her friends from the CITY of Sparta... and I was talking about a band named Sparta...
but we still laugh about that all the time...
okay so its not as cool as knowing someone who really does know them... but it was a rather funny conversation... straight out of a Seinfeld Episode... when Elaines daiting Joey Davola and Jerrys being stalked by Crazy Joe Davola
