Who else watches this absolutely fucking awesome original series from The History Channel? I think I've actually never seen a single episode live, all been from catching torrents. Hell this show alone is a major reason of why I wish I already had a sweet HDTV to look at in my bedroom.

They're a couple episodes into the 3rd season, and the first three I've watched so far have all been mindtrippers. Parallel Universes, Light Speed, and the one I'm currently on (I think the newest).... Sex In Space
In the beginning here they're talking about this woman who has invented a space suit that works singularly, but expands and has velcro attachments to help bind you to your partner so you can be close enough to bang while you're hanging out in zero gravity environment...

ZING!!!! :haha:

Well yea I'd definitely say they're starting to get into a bit more "abstract" topics, after the whole of the first 2 seasons covering more traditional areas that you'd expect, like the sun and different planets, etc.

http://www.history.com/minisite.do?cont ... i_id=54036

But each episode they've got a usual roster of different physicist and astronomer experts they interview in bits who, for the most part, do a reasonable job at helping to explain the more verbose elements in everyday terms you can wrap your head around.

FYI there's two solid torrents up right now on Mininova for the complete seasons 1 and 2, I just finished DL'ing season 1 last night. All eps in xvid .avi quality.

The only really "negative" part is the shows are encoded so well, a full season comes out to be greater than 4.3gb, so one can't fit all on a single DVD, like I couldn't fit the 14th and final episode from s1 on the data disc I just burned. But that's a minor quibble.

I haven't missed an episode in the 3 seasons that it's been on.

The best 3 by far are:

1. Last year's episode on the moons of other planets;
2. This year's episode on light speed; and
3. Last year's episode on time travel and worm holes.

Hmm, so you mean that was on season 2? Do you remember which one? Because looking over the titles, nothing seems obviously that, and I'd set my torrent so that it finishes DL'ing that one first, I'm definitely interested in watching that.

It's called Space Travel (Season 2 Episode 8 ). They explain how it would be possible to create shortcuts in space by bending space or creating worm holes. They give a really good explanation of how space travel affects time by showing if you passed through worm holes your watch would move slower (kind of like how, if you're traveling at the speed of light, you age more slowly). It's really difficult at times to wrap your head around the concepts, but it's still unbelievably fascinating.

I love this show and have seen the majority of them. Although really cool shows, they typically leave me with a headache after b/c I'm not smart enough to comprehend what they're talking about. That Parallel Universe one really tripped me out.

Okay cool, thanks. Yea I'd seen that title, but I guess I was assuming it was dealing with the probably of like spaceships being operable, that kind of "space travel".

And yes, Parallel Universes was pretty damn trippy.

Great show and kinda scary....you realize pretty quick how small and insignificant we are and that one day we won't be here anymore.

It's really one of the best shows on TV period. Really shows you that we as humans are just along for the ride. Some of the best ones are,

1) Time Travel and worm holes.
2) Parrellel Universes
3) Armegedden (the most depressing episode by far)
4) Light Speed

I don't have cable, so I really appreciate this thread.
And even more so the links, the DivX certified DVD player has been one helluva purchase. Looks like the final episode should be just fine for a CD-R.
