The band should have a guest drummer stroll on out to break him out of his current funk.
He's far from in a funk - have you heard any of the tapes from this tour? He rules, he always rules
I've heard a good majority of the shows, and saw them 10 times over the full course of '08. He was overplaying the Some Devil songs early on, but certainly got better as the tour progressed. But I still believe he's in a funk. Of course there are times when he just lets loose and it's fantastic, he's certainly talented that was never a question. However, the beats of all the new stuff is hugely similar and his fills are getting very repetitive. Less really is more at times, as it used to be actually.

Shame about the band he's in.
not really. i think the best thing about the band is they all bring something different to the table. carter is obviously the stand out musician in the band, but i always thought the best thing about the band was how they mesh different styles and sounds together
i heard on the radio they should have something out early in 09 and from what i heard roi is on the record. rip

I was saying more that I can't really enjoy a musician when the music he makes is bad. Like if Stevie Wonder had played in some awful funk band instead of being a solo artist.
