I was thinking about starting a weekly tipping competition here for the AFL (Australian Football League) but only if there is enough interest. You don't have to know anything about the game, anyone can join, just post in this thread.

what is 'tipping"?
Hehe, I had to search for that, as well.
It appears to be Australian for "pick 'em".
Nice work on the translation Nick.

Not bad... I'd put Essendon at number 1 though I haven't really given it much thought yet myself.

Remember to put their mascots there. I'm basing my tips solely on who I think will win out of battles between the respective mascots.
Will do
I like that method, because it means that (like me) you will always be tipping the bombers. Or should be.

I wish I could be one of those guys in the straw hats that signal scores. Those guys crack me up.
Me too.
They remind me of
except they just chop at empty space instead of bricks or boards.
aahahaha YES
I feel the need to clear something up here. Far be it for me to defend umpires, but they don't "chop", they signal with the index fingers \/
as this picture... doesn't really demonstrate

It doesn't quite work like that. I just check some of the others.
-The bomber pilot, on a particular day, may have eaten too many pies and might get sick from doing that.
-A dockers strike means that the freight has to be transported from out of the air force base, forcing the bombers down for another day
-The bomber pilot has the blues and calls in sick.
-The bomer pilot's cat shat on his lap the night before.
-The demon does demonic things.
There's also a few other issues. Blues are tricky in that I don't really know what a blue is. I can't tell the difference between an eagle and a hawk, and a saints-demons battle could be apocalyptic and destroy the world as we know it.

you have no idea how many times i have engaged in a debate over the shitiness of the blue's "mascot". it's basically a large muscley man. good point with the demons, but the bombers can fly on auto-pilot when neccesary.
