The Rules:
1. Post however many albums in your list you would like, but only the top 20 will be counted towards the RM Top 100 of 2008 list.
2. Order your lists please if you want them counted. I'm not going to guess.
3. Scoring is based on a 30 point system (30 pts for your #1, 29 pts for your #2, 11 pts for your #20 and so on).
4. Albums can be studio, live, and of any length - as long as it was released NEW in 2008. Re-releases do not count (the exception would be if an album was released in the UK in 2007, but didn't get a release in the US until 2008).
5. I'm thinking Sunday Jan 4th as the deadline for submission if you want your list to be compiled in the RM Top 100. That gives people ample time to mull it over, and also leaves room for the remaining releases of the year. I will post the results on Monday Jan 5th.

I am just compiling the data that i come across in the thread, no need to PM me. Otherwise feel free to use it to talk about your favorite albums of the year or whatever else it is that gets you through the day. I'll just be lurking in the shadows, quietly judging you.

Past lists:
Top 50 of 2007
Top 100 of 2006

yeah any scenario along those lines is legit. the original intent of that rule was to avoid people putting in a reissue of some old 60's classic or something. also, In Rainbows was commercially available (albeit free) in Oct 2007. That better not be on anybody's list!

The consensus is that there is no consensus, I think.
But hey I don't care, I put it on my 2007 list, I'm not putting it on this one.

both Radiohead and Bon Iver made it into the top 10 of last year, it'd be silly for them to show up again this year.
