i mean its out of all jurisdictions. im assuming astronauts play well in space but what if one didnt? what about the eventual booming moon travel industry? what laws govern the moon? ours? what if an american takes a shuttle out of singapore? do those extremely strict laws apply then? we will need to come up with planetary laws and i dont mean physics. who gets to make them or should..or should it lawless and we send convicts there? shut down gitmo and fly them to the moon?

question. will there come a time when we will need to create laws for travel in space? im dead serious

they'll sink soon but it gives me an idea of what people like to discuss. but do u think there will be space laws? when lance bass goes to the moon and marries some dude will we have a law in place first? i wonder if u think rules and regs will be needed. civilians will go soon. ive never once heard about incidents outside earth but they will happen. and i really hope u dont think im goofing around but do u know what happens when u shoot a gun in space or the moon? maybe a new market for space weaponry is ripe buttttt does the right to bear arms include the moon????? im sure charlton heston would have said yes.

answer some of this anyone, yes no???

or, ultimately, do we each rule ourselves?

The moon won't extradite a national, so it's unlikely.

i do rule myself to the point of law abidance. is that a word? it didnt have a red underline. anyway no civilian will be allowed to leave this planet for pleasure until we get some things figured out. christa mccolough and the israeli pilot were under what laws? they died so i guess it gives us more time.

on a very serious note. when will Barack sit down with these guys and hear their thoughts on a moon constitution?? Or will we just give them small pox and bury our flag up their ass with the patriotic impunity?

on a "very serious note", no one is inhabiting the moon, nor are there plans for anyone to do so. you seem to like a lot of futuristic hypothetical questions

there will be space tourists. guaranteed. we will have to use our own laws or create new ones and i find it interesting. a new constitution. space station for scientific research of the moon is first. no doubt. then when we see the feasibilty to get rich mofos back and forth, the market will begin. there will be no place cooler, pun intended, to tell ur friends uve been.

I'm pretty sure pretty much every country has claimed the moon (and all of space) by now, so no, you're probably not safe.

Why? At first glance they seem more thought provoking than "I just had a ham sandwich" type threads.

all the things he likes to talk about are quite inconsequential when compared to ham sandwiches. also more frustrating than a ham sandwich.

Laws will be instituted progressively I think. Just like the internet. As more people use it, people will start to abuse it. That's when the lawmaking comes into play.

Historically, human beings have always broken the law before the law was even instituted. If that makes sense. One exception to this idea would be Adam and Eve. The one single rule was in place, and they broke it anyways.

At any rate, I hope I'm able to at least take a touristy type shuttle ride into space at least once before I die. And if the law says that I'm required to wear a seat belt, then I will.

well why limit it to the moon? lets get real thought provoking. how about in 300 years when we colonize mars? none of us will be alive, but lets discuss it anyway, because it might happen.

will the martians have their own laws, or will president george hwjg bush III mandate what laws they will follow?
