Unfortunately, it's so elementary, and the big time investors behind the drive in the stock market aren't so stupid. This isn't the false economy of 2000.
Langella's performance seems like a bad impersonation based on the commercials. It's been getting good-to-great reviews, so maybe it's just the previews, but man. Every time he says "When the Preshident doesh it, it'sh not illegal!" I cringe. His Nixon seems to have a bit of Sean Connery in it.

I thought the same thing. Despite that it still looks worthy of being given a shot.

i posted already on the "what movies are you watching thread", but people need to see this. it was awesome. much, much better than slumdog, which won best picture.
great performances all around, great script. sam rockwell is in it, doing a great job.
kinda surprised it didn't get much attention here at rm. it's by far howard's best film.

I got this one through Netflix & I too really liked it. Very good and surprisingly fast paced which isn't something you can always say about dialogue heavy, "grown up" movies. I've watched the actual interviews a couple years back. Most of them were dry and borderline dull but when conversation turned to Watergate late Nixon comes the closest he ever came to apologizing..wow. As good as as movie is it doesn't touch the drama/emotion of the real thing.
