normally i would just bite them but then at times, you accidently bite to far and you end up bleeding then you cant handle lemons, jalepenos and other stuff.

i have quit biting my nails and now use a file and clippers to do the job, but its tough. i even have that long wooden thing they give you to clean under the nails.

what else should i be doing? (besides getting a french manicure)

I know. I used to bite my nails a lot.
I always carry chewing gum. and a nail clipper every where I go. If I get a snag, I take care of it asap so I don't get tempted to bite my nail.

Wintertime is hard on hands too.

Start with cuticle oil. You won't want to put that in your mouth once you rub in on your nails.

i hate things that make my hands greasy, hand creams stuff like that
it drives me up the wall
i'd wash that stuff off 3 seconds after putting it on

I give myself manicures on occasion. I need one. I'm just feeling too lazy to do it today.

never had a manicure either
