The end game of all these bailouts is to create justification for the federal government to subvert the healthcare market in order to relieve pensions, local governments, unions, and big business of healthare obligations as the population ages.

Stop infecting the board with your hyperbolic bullshit...
I think it might be a good idea to revamp the healthcare that the government already runs in a meaningful and effective way before we start hoping for it to run all of it.
What I don't understand about health care programs that we currently have is...Okay, use tax dollars to fund them, that's fine. But why let bureaucrats run the programs? Let a committee or something oversee them, sure. But put it in the hands of people who that is their expertise. Let them run it. And maybe even give those people some good pay funded by our tax dollars. I'd rather help a few people get rich and see programs run more efficiently than the alternative that we currently employ.
Same goes with education and almost every other area the gov't spends our tax dollars on. Let experts in those areas run the programs. It boggles my mind that we don't do this.

Having been deemed 'uninsurable', I'm not saying anything negative about anything that changes the current system. Things may not be 100% fixed on the first try. But dear god - SOMETHING should be done to allow everyone the access to healthcare. Whatever it takes, it's not fair that I'm being denied healthcare so some stranger can be a millionaire. Fuck him sideways.
