I love this shit when they show it on History, it scares the piss out of me and it is interesting.

I love watching prophecy shows, all this stuff about the Mayan calendar, Nostadamus. Its good entertainment. You can't escape it.

My brother bought me the South Park DVD "The Cult of Cartman: Revelations" for Christmas. It comes with a card that says you're now part of the Eric Theodore Cartman Society and that the card expires in 2012. And then on the DVD he says "Remember, we all die in 2012."

We don't have much further to go. Repent. :twisted:

possible, sure, but then, the history channel's guide for yesterday's programming (i looked) listed a bunch of shows tying it to biblical/christian armageddon.

It's interesting, but complete and utter horse shit at the same time. Wasn't the world supposed to end in 1999 or 2000 and, well, a couple hundred other times? On a related note, I was in the outskirts of Copan, a very cool, small city in Hunduras, and I took a tour of some major Mayan ruins and I started talking to the tour guide about the whole prediction of the end of world the Mayans supposedly made. He said it was simply a result of their calender flipping over after a certain number of years and us misinterpreting this as the sudden end of the world. In other words, their calender reached a particular year, then started over.

Hahaha. No, it's math based reasoning. I didn't fully understand the mathematical logic behind how and why their calender started over but I know it had something to do with how high their numbering system was. It's kind of similar to how we did the BC to AD. The tour guide was very adamant that it had nothing to do with the claims that it was in direct relation to the end of the world. But it makes for a good show on the history channel.
