Serious advice please. I've had my current desktop for four years, so I knew this was coming, but today my digital research seminar told me that a laptop was required (duh, should have figured that). The question here is what brand should I get and what specifications are good/necessary? I'm looking at Apple as my first choice because of how bad Vista blows, but I'm not sure how true that perception is. Any help?

My friend actually has Simon Orange Model which I really like. They've worked out all the beta kinks by this point so you don't have to worry about that. But yeah it seems really dependable.

vista doesn't blow. I have had 0 problems with it. Most people that complain are old and afraid of change

The ideal screen size is 12" or 13", more than that gets bulky, less is too small.

Go with Vista, but tweak and downgrade the visual gimmicks.

Do NOT buy a laptop with an nVidia 8 or 9 series graphics chip in it. They all have manufacturing defects that will reduce their life span to about 3 years.
