We all know how much magazines love "top 100 of all-time" lists, mainly lists involving albums. I think it's time that RM has its own list. So here's what we'll do.
Everyone will PM me a list of your top 25 albums of all-time. The deadline for the list is midnight EST on Wednesday night / Thursday morning January 22nd.
The #1 album on your list gets 25 points. The #2 album gets 24 pts. and so on. I will tabulate all the votes and then post the top 100 albums according to point totals. I prefer the lists to be PMed instead of posted in the thread, mainly to keep the suspense up.

if less than 20 of the top 25 are not by Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Bruce, Led Zep, Dylan or Floyd I will be shocked

I'm going to exclude Pearl Jam this time around, because I remember last time it was a letdown whenever PJ showed up on the list. You can expect a list from me.

I'm in, but i have my doubts as to how well this will work out. The sample size is just too small and the field is too broad. I suspect you'll end up with the top album getting a max of 3 or 4 votes. I could be wrong though.
Btw, if you want a copy of the spreadsheet i use for the year end lists, shoot me a PM. It'll do all the math for you
I'm going to exclude Pearl Jam because they wouldn't be on my list anyway! LOL
We should clarify... I was under the impression that we are choosing OUR OWN Top-25, right? As opposed to what we think are considered to be the top-25? Why would everyone deny themselves of the Pearl Jam picks? We're all here on a PJ board aren't we?
It's funny because when talking to people and I say I'm going to a PJ show or what not, they kind of give me that "they're still around?" look. So I tend to keep my obsessions (multiple shows, bootleg purchases, etc) a little more discrete. Now when it comes to this type of thing, I'd wear my Pearl Jam love on my sleeve.

It's just retarded because it's obvious most people like PJ on a PJ board. It's a waste of a space that could turn someone on to something new.

No, I don't think anyone is saying exclude Pearl Jam. It's quite obvious they're going to mop up here. I'm just saying that Pearl Jam don't have any records that I'd consider in my favorite top 25 of all time. Probably not even 100.

I love PJ, but I could think of 20-25 albums that are great than any of theirs probably. We'll see.

If I'm feeling especially excited about spending 3 hours making a list that probably won't contribute at all to the final list, I'll do this.
I just looking forward to trying to come up with a personal top 25. I tried a top 10 once and failed miserably. We'll see if this time is any different. I've narrowed it down to a short list of 51.
