You may know him as Number Six from the 60's mindfucker 'The Prisoner'. Or you may know him as the Warden in Escape From Alcatraz. Or you may know him as King Edward Longshanks in Braveheart. Or maybe you don't know him at all. Nonetheless, he has passed away.

But he was best known as the title character Number Six in "The Prisoner," a surreal 1960s British series in which a former spy is held captive in a small village and constantly tries to escape.
Being of my generation, my first exposure to McGoohan was in Braveheart. It is still one of my favorite movies and his performance in it is a big reason why.

Oh, man.
I absolutely worshiped McGoohan after seeing The Prisoner. He not only starred, but conceived the show and wrote and directed several episodes. The man was a genius of high caliber, and just plain old one of teh coolest people in acting.
I think I need to go out and get The Prisoner on DVD to share with my friends and family. It's been a long time.
