This episode ended in an exciting way!!
It doesn't seem to me that the president is playing a major role this season. in the past seasons he has been one of the major plots, now we just see him for a few minutes. I guess they must be missing the Palmer plots.
Looks like Driscoll is going to leave next week because of her daughter and Tony is going to be placed in charge. SWEET!!!
Now that they have shut down the nuclear plants I wonder where this will go? Obviously they have to catch that guy and from the previews there is going to be some sort of bomb? At least it looked like a bomb.

Yeah, what the hell was that big device Jack is after in next week's ep. I'm interested to see where it goes from here...looks like we've reached the midway point.
It sucked that Driscoll's daughter killed herself, but I'm glad that subplot is over. Although, it does seem a little convenient for Tony that Driscoll's leaving, so that they'll give him her job.

I thought it was some sort of bomb at first glance but then at the end of the previews it showed jack yelling holding a door shut with that light coming through. something is going to happen to jack? i don't know.

It's clearly an EMP device designed to knock out all of LA's electrical/electronic systems. Thus someone telling that helicopter to get the hell out of there.

after reading the previews for NEXT week I figured Driscolls kid had died somehow and i THOUGHT that would clear the way for Michelle to come back...guess not yet....
I think the NEW prez is a bad dude, that part in the preview about "do you want them to know we sold arms to terrorists" makes me think new prez is dirty in this.....Palmer DOES come back for the last 7-8 episodes so....
good job by Black 24.....dude is super sleuth, maybe this year Jack gets killed in the line of duty and Curtis "no i DONT look like seal without the scars" will take over saving the world????
cant wait for next week.....somethings been bugging me all year....Driscolls daughter, where is she from? Ive seen her in something....a movie or on tv.....

Remember Driscoll asking Sara to keep an eye on Tony, 24 and William Devane for her? I'd be willing to put money on the fact that it's going to come back into play when it comes to Tony running the show. Erin's down, but she's not out. She's too much of a cutthroat bitch to be.
And it looks like the Department of Defense is involved. I still think it goes all the way up to William Devane.
And man, they should rename the show 24 vs. The Mummy for the rest of the season. That would be AWESOME. I love how he used his mummy powers to sneak up on the CTU agent in the hallway and kill him by repeatedly shooting him in the armpit.

Something still bugs me about the Secretary of Defense. Maybe I think he's a bad actor, maybe he's behind something...I dunno. But whenever he opens his mouth, he sounds...looking for a good word....fake? If the DoD was selling weapons to the terrorists and he knew this, that would kinda make sense.
EMP device...interesting idea.
Should be interesting where it goes from here. I'm excited.
Before I bring up my next point...I know...I know...it's just a TV show...but...when Jack and Curtis had Marwan cornered in the office, he fired his gun straight in the air. Straight in the air. Sure, he got away, but he musta known there was a small chance they could jump on that comp and disable the over-ride. Why didn't he just shoot the computer monitor? They had something like two minutes to fix the reactors...how long does it take to drag another monitor over and hook it up and stuff? Usually takes me like twenty minutes. Anyways, it's just a show...I'm sorry.

in regards to this i think he was just trying not to get caught as there is obviously more going on with this plan. if he had just shot at the computer it wouldn't have made the scene and caused the panic that occurred when he fired it straight up (because a lot of the people wouldn't know what was going on and probably wouldn't have immediately started running) and he would probably been captured easier.

after watching the previews again today I am thinking that you are right and it is a EMP device.
