I'm not a comic book guy, but I've never welcomed the idea of Superman and Batman sharing the same universe.

batman and superman are seen as two different sides of the coin

superman inspires people to do good and most will do anything if he asked them to

batman uses fear both to friends and enemies, and most will do anything if he asked them to

supemans body is one huge energy cell. hes not so much invulnerable as much as his body produces an impenterable personal force field milimeters from his skin. so when he fought doomsday way back in 91 or so, his body taxed all his stored energy and this is how doomsday's exoskeleton was able to cut and injure superman.

when he did "die" he actually went into a coma where his body completely shut down and began collecting energy again, and was then kickstarted by kryptonian machinery to heal his injuries
