Probably as real as the many worlds interpretation. In other words, it's based completely on our understanding of something we can't even begin to completely understand. I'll wait at least until physicists start to make up their minds on quantum physics and black holes before coming to any kind of conclusion on specific metaphysical guesses.

Seems like it would fit in really well with string theory, although some of the more theoretical predictions of the latter would have to be reevaluated. Certainly explains black holes...very cool possibility.

Stephen Hawking has been saying something akin to this for years. His theory that there are 6-7 other dimensions that we can't notice is based on a similar premise that they are either too small or extra information is packed into another dimension, creating an illusion to fool your senses.

This is some complicated stuff. I feel like I got the jist of it, but it'd be cool for one of you really smart scientific dudes to break it down a little.

It is really crazy to think about our perspective versus both the largest and smallest units of time and space. A period of 24 hours by itself can be incredibly long or short to us, and they're talking about billions of years and plancks/the speed of light.

String Theory has been saying there are extra dimensions for decades. But wouldn't it be more like a reverse-hologram? An 11 dimensional universe projected into our 3 dimensional world. Whereas a hologram is a 2 dimensional object that looks like 3 dimensions.
