Regina is a premier primatology prodigy. She has done significant fieldwork in the Congo, Uganda, and Mauritania, studying the migration and reproductive habits of silverback gorillas and bearded gibbons. She has produced an already prolific amount of information regarding this subject and recently attained a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Now, she is the distinguished fellow at American University, serving also as the University's liaison to the Central Africa region of the International Primatology Research Initiative.

Her early work focused on experimental insemination practices in Australian indigenous marsupials. Her interest in primatology was triggered by a Proffesor Norman Gold, the Jane Goodall Fellow at Georgetown.
