Next up in the continuing saga of taking something cool from a legitimate genre of music and completely ruining it, i present to you the concept of emo moshing. I'm not even going to post a video, just go look it up on youtube and witness the foolishness for yourself.

Does the world really need another reason to hate these kids?

I wouldn't exactly say moshing is "cool" to begin with.

i'd like to say the mosh pit was cool, but i think its like a convertible. seems cool when you don't have it, but where your there in the moment, you can't hear the other people in the car, and you have a lot of air hitting you in the face. so guess what i'm saying, i thought i was for mosh pits, but thinking about my reaction to every mosh pit i have seen, makes me realize mosh pits are pretty annoying and i have never enjoyed one.

The only time I can remember enjoying a moshpit was when I saw Alice in Chains a few years ago. It wasn't so much that I was moshing but that I wasn't bothered by all the pushing and jostling around because it was such an emotional moment for me and everyone else. That was a show where I felt like I didn't really need to focus so much on hearing the music, because I already knew how it sounded. Something about that show felt special, and unlike most moshpits, I think the people in it were there because the music brought out actual emotions in them rather than just a bunch of idiots being violent.

I'm not very good at describing that kind of thing, but I know what I mean. All other moshing I have ever seen has been stupid.

Punk circle pits are fun. At least the ones where most of the people are there to have a good time-- dancing around the circle while the music builds and then when the song gets faster/harder going nuts in the middle of the pit. Good times.

I was quite prepared to post the same thing if I hadn't seen it.
