Radioshack

Image

I went into Radioshack today, to buy batteries. I needed a big pack of AA batteries, so it was between radioshack and home depot. Radioshack was closer. I went in, the sales person was the only guy in the store. He was very eager to please and help. In doing so he made buying batteries complicated listing deals on batteries and different types. I decided on getting a pack of duracell (Keeping it simple.) Then the sales guy started asking me about my cell phone plan, and asked if i wanted a pre paid phone to avoid roaming charges. It was slightly uncomfortable, and the fact that he was trying to sell a cell phone plan to someone who came in just looking for batteries seemed desperate. It kinda made me never want to go into radioshack again. Like its some girl I regretted hooking up with.

This reminds me. I saw a video online about these store closing deals. Apparently not all of them are quite "deals".

Everyone is out to sell you things you don't need. That's probably why Internet shopping is so popular.

They kept demanding my full name and phone number for every transaction I made.

I get that they can make money by mining me for marketing information, but if they're going to do that, you think they could go to the trouble of saving me in their system. Every time I went into the same store and they had to have my information to ring me up. :shake:

yes. they raise the prices before marking them down for these store closings. circuit city is shutting down and yet there's hardly a bargain to be had there.
