This article prompted me to think about why nothing has happened on our rail lines, but it also got me thinking about another thing. The thing that frightens me is that this country has not had one suicide bomber attack since 9/11. I don't know what this could mean, my thoughts are that al Qaeda is planning something massive ie. biological, nuclear, or chemical. But I don't understand how their hasn't been one suicide bomber, one person who just flies off the handle and goes to a crowded mall with a bomb strapped to their chest. The only conclusion I can draw is that they are planning something massive and that it is still in its planning stages, or just waiting for the command to strike.

Let's face it folks. No amount of war-waging, terrorist-killing, or other such acts are going to make us safer against terrorism. Hell, the former HHS secretary said flat out that he couldn't believe terrorists hadn't targeted our food supply, which would apparently be a very easy target. Our rail lines, the same thing. It doesn't take thousands of people to pull off acts that could kill thousands. It only takes a few, and in a world of 6 billion people, you just can't watch everybody. This is why I think terrorism needs to be fought on more of an intellectual battlefield. We need to rethink our foreign policy so that we aren't in this position, plain and simple. This is what we should be demanding of our government instead of spending hundreds of billions trying to fight terrorism with bullets and bombs. It just doesn't work.
