Anybody at an Ivy league school? I think we need some smarter people so that when they post sarcastically, there is actually a small sense of wit in it.

instead we should put current "bad posters" through a boot camp of sorts. although, not in a douchey way a la WL...but not in a coddling way either. we (you) need to be firm, yet fair.
otherwise, you may have "better posters" posting here, but you will still have the same bad posters fucking it up for everyone

very true. there are others though...(as you are aware, otherwise you wouldn't have started this)
simply bringing in new, better posters won't help in the long run. especially if the new posters eventually tire of this place and move on

i wouldn't go so far as to say posters here are subhuman...they just think what they say is funny when it's not. i've done this plenty of times as well (see also: most sexual jokes i make).
at least you're making an effort though (as are others) in telling people how you feel. sometimes when posts go unanswered, instead of the poster thinking "wow, i guess that wasn't funny" they sometimes think "oh, i guess no one saw it. okay...let me post something else".
