He got that ambition, baby
Look at his eyes
This week he's mopping floors
Next week,
it's the fries.

If I looked at mainstream hip hop, I'd say "it sucks", too. But you have to look harder to find the good stuff.

i had just bought my third sonic youth album a few years back, goo, and was listening to it on the headphones from start to finish. the album had an ok sound to it, a little poppy, but only by sonic youth standards. i then came to track # 8...i heard a bumping, deep bassline...and an almost robotic voise say "mil-dred pierce"...the music excalated, spiraled and got heavier and heavier...

about a minute later...a hear a screaming MILDRED PIERCE!!!! MIIILLDDREEDD PIERCE!!!!!MILDRED PIERCE!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH

and the song ended.

i was in love with thurston moore and sonic youth.

the name is also a reference to an old joan crawford film, but i've not seen it...so i can't claim it.
