I have a friend that goes to Brown and he convinced me to book a trip for their Spring Weekend, which he says is really cool. The best part is his uncle let him use a Southwest travel voucher he had laying around, so it only cost me 12 bucks. Anything I should be sure to do while I'm out that way? I've never been to New England, so I'm pretty excited.

Way to help.
Actually I was thinking about suggesting a train trip to Boston since I've never been. Does it really only take 20 minutes? And is Providence that bad or are you guys just giving it a hard time?

Providence is a dump. And I've made it from Providence to Boston in 20 minutes. It might take you more like 30 though.

Well it's not that bad. I mean you're going to a college campus so you're probably just going to go to bars and drink and whatnot. But Providence is just an old industrial town with really ugly architecture and a couple decent colleges. Boston is beautiful, and has better schools and bars. Plus Fenway is in Boston.

I went to college in Providence (Providence College, fancy that). It was a fun college town, but every time I go back it seems sort of boring. There's a pizza place on Thayer Street called Antonio's (right near Brown) that is great. There is also a great used bookstore downtown called Cellar Stories.
Boston's about a 45 minute drive on a normal day. I don't find Boston that exciting nowadays, either.
