This was before the newer more recent pearl jam sucks era we have entered?
Sure, I'd say so. Even though its probably a more personal reasons you know, growing up, different tastes, getting exposed to different shit. I think I kind of lost my lust for the band after I turned 21, right after that Canadian tour in 2005.
Needless today I'd put Chicago 2000 up against any show post-Avocado.

There is no pearl jam sucks era, despite the bitching you'll find here.
Care to revise this opinion, chud?
Chicago 2000 is wonderful. One of the best Blacks ever.
I feel like 1993 to 2000 was the best this band's ever going to be. At this point I'm fairly resigned to that, but that's cool. They still don't suck but I rarely find myself reaching for any of their records after Binaural, but those first six album still sound as majestic and satisfying as they ever did.
I really hope they crack open that Vault sooner rather than later - that's much more exciting to me at this point than a new record would be.

It's all relative, but I stand by my statement.
Cool. Like I said above, I agree with that. I still think they're a great live band for what they are, rarely does anyone leave a Pearl Jam show disappointed (especially someone who's never seen them before) even if I don't like their last few records very much and rarely listen to them.

Yup. But if there was a pearl jam sucks era it was 2006.

If we're talking live stuff, I'll still take any performance from the first decade of the band over anything since. But that's not to say I think they're a shitty live band now, it's just that they were mind-blowingly great for those first ten years or so - it's unrealistic to think they could be THAT good forever, no band is.
