What's the worst injury you've ever had or something that brought you to your knees from the pain?

UTI & Kidney Infection... I wanted to die.

Yes, Kidney infection. Worst ever. An infected burn wound was bad too. Tiny but painful. Above my ankle.
Other than that, you only have to point at me and I almost feel pain. I am *very* vulnarable, or touchy, or whatever you call that.

Car accident when I was two... my earliest memory.
After we got to the hospital they thought the entire right side of my face had been shattered.

No, just an infection. Related to the IBS, so it was more than once. I do everything I can to stay healthy because that pain really sucked .

Yup... it was pretty damaging to me for many years, actually. I was terrified of the car after the whole ordeal. My right cheek bone is pretty sweet though - flat more or less under my right eye. Obviously everything ended up being ok, just four stitches. Pretty sweet scar, too.

Sorry if this thread is a bit intense... another UTI last night almost sent me to the hospital. Just wanted to know that there was more pain that could have been had.

once you have one, you'll never want another one, for damn sure.
My old roomie has had five major surgeries on her kidneys and a few other minor operations to try to break up her stones. Poor gal.

Poor Jay had to sit at the clinic with us for like three hours.

i was climbing down a rope into this deep well, and then there was a flash and i travelled thru time and fell down onto some rocks and had a compound fracture of my tibia. i was able to hobble over to this big wheel and push it and jump thru time again.

this other time i got shot in the gut, but didn't bleed to death.

also, i was thrown out a window and paralyzed from the waist down. that hurt like a motherfucker.

It's good to know there's always worse. I read a horrible true story (in a book, not online) about a man who was kept together with metal parts, after a car crash. His pain was immense and nothing helped. He also looked terrible and lost his company, wife, house and all his money. Still he survived and even kept the will to live. But just reading about it was horrible already...
And while you're all typing fast: my boyfriend was pushed through a window once too, but it was only his arm (and lots of blood). The guy who did it was also a fan of American Wrestling, so he jumped up and down his spine a couple of times. He was sacked rightaway. It was really stupid: on a Friday morning at an office, before nine! I could have lost my boyfriend there because of someone elses bad temper.
