God, I can see this doing nothing but sucking. James Iha is like a thousand miles ahead of anyone else in this band besides Bun E. Carlos, and I don't like Cheap Trick anyway.
Plus, are they going to be doing covers of "Stacy's Mom" and "M Bop"? Yeah, that's definately better than rejoining Smashing Pumpkins. This will make Billy Corgan's current SP look like they did in 1994.

So three dudes from shitty bands decide to make one shitty band? I don't see the problem here. It's like a consolidation of shit. I only have one band I have to ignore now.

there's really nothing wrong with Foutains of Wayne, guys.
And what the fuck, Mickey, Smashing Pumpkins have a lot of good material. The wheels fell off about 10 years ago, but I could listen to any SP record before Machina and enjoy most of it.

Mreh. A few good songs and a ton of undeserved praise.

How many bands in the 90's that popular at their peak (Mellon Collie, probably) had an album that good to back it up with?

Actually, the Smashing Pumpkins were really fucking good. A lot of their seemingly simple, catchy pop songs are remarkably difficult to play and very well constructed. "Siamese Dream" is a great album, too.

You're way out of line here. Don't make me start talking about some of the bands you like. I'll do it.

Taylor Hanson is the cancer in this first and foremost. Its like they got 3 musicians from 3 decent bands together and could've made it cool with the fourth choice. Then they went and botched the entire thing.

If this is the direction that Iha wanted to take, then I'm glad Billy didn't ask him back.
Never been a big Iha fan. By the end of his run with SP he was nothing more than a glorified whammy-pedal player. As for his singing, I skip all of his tracks when I listen to a Pumpkins album.
