I know dude. The only reason I was able to afford mine was because I tacked it onto my student loans. What's an extra 2 grand on a 40g loan?

I would call headquarters and ask them to lower their laptop prices to a 1/3 of what they're currently selling for.

I'm no tax guru, but I think you could write it off if you took the 'home office' route on your tax return.
But here's the deal with deductions, it's not worth it to spend money on things you can write off unless your expenses are higher than your standard deduction.

Maybe you can ask a cpa about it, though, to verify.

Although I don't see any sort of advantage to using a Mac over a PC, I do own a Mac and because of my experience with it I think everyone should own one at least once in their lives. It's just the cost that is hard to commit to, considering a lot of computers don't last long.

True, but I will say that the mac I bought over 2 years ago is still running just as well as it did the day I took it out of the box.

The wonders of not downloading porn. :o

I have no idea what this talk of degradation is. I guess people are just downloading too much porn and getting viruses. What exactly is it?

I know of CPU and GPU degradation from overvolting, but I don't think manufacturers even overclock.
