a few years ago Pearl Jam did a show in hawaii, didn't they? And there was some sort of travel package for it. Was that show for a charity or was it just a random gig with that travel dealy attatched to it?

wasn't charity, just regular one like they did the following year in London and Munich.

WAY overpriced too!

I think cutuphalfdead's right, and this was the show with U2.

I'm pretty certain it wasn't the split bill because the split one was GA and the package included good seats.

They did 2 nights in Hawaii to finish off the 2006 tour. The first show was a Pearl Jam show with them as the headliner, same as any other night on the Self Titled tour. Then, about a week later, they did another Hawaii show where they split the bill with U2 and both bands played a set. I think PJ played first before U2 and the U2 set might have been slightly longer. PJ didn't do encores or anything like that.

Stip,

London and Munich 2007 are the only travel packages I remember the 10C promoting. The site is still up with cost and package info:

http://pearljam.fanasylum.com/

hope that helps.

Regarding the charity, Ed and Boom played there in April 2007 for the Kokua Festival.

thoguh calling it 'trave' package is a stretch since it didn't include any travel

WAY overpriced too!

it costs a lot to get people to Hawaii to see the band, so not everyone would have the money to make it there so I'm sure it was a move to make sure the promoters get their money's worth.

it didn't include any travel (you still had to get your ass there yourself) plus it was limited to about a hundred people I think so not exactly going to make a difference in a 10000+ venue!

It was just as bad for the London and Munich ones (I did the maths with London one as I know the local prices, and you could have done it yourself for half the price! same hotel.)

I was more referring to any ticket price being high. IIRC, there was an inclusive travel package offered to the HI show.

I wasn't talking about ticket price either.
the 'travel' package DID NOT include any travel... I did look at making the trip to Hawaii so believe me I checked!
It was only hotel, the ticket (with good seats, but coming from front row every GA show, nothing worth $100s) and some 'bonuses' like a couple of parties (not including the band, just other people on the package), transport (in hawaii) and a few memorabilia including the bootleg.
