Anyone have this? We're moving and we don't want to spend 50+ bucks per month on cable when we can get directv for 35 bucks with better channels. Is it reliable? Is the customer service ok? General complaints/good things?

The customer service is horrific.
Absolutely Fucking Awful.
Having Said that, the service itself is good enough, you never actually have to call them.

My friend used to have it and every so often I'd have to climb out a window onto his roof to adjust the dish. He'd have done it himself but I was the only one small enough to fit out the window.

just make sure you mount you dish with a clear view of the sky. i've only had a couple of interruptions in about 8 years, but that was due to very bad weather conditions.

We used to have it. But when it rained/snowed/wind heavily, the picture would go out :/

We went back to cable. $30 a month.

im pretty sure its either a $5.00 a month credit for 10 months or $10.00 for 5 months...still its $50.00 and you can refer as many people as you want but i figured you'd get a one-time $50.00 credit :? the service is good unless theres severe weather but i can watch NESN and thats all that really matters

I don't know much about DirectTV but I have DISH Network and I love it. Our cable company in town blows.

Worst customer service of any company I've ever dealt with, hands down. Dish Network was much better, and cheaper too. Only reason I ever got DTV was because of the NFL Sunday Ticket, and that's so expensive anymore 'cuz they want an extra $100 so you can get the games in HD.

Speaking of which, if you want HD channels, you'll be paying an extra $10/month to get whatever channels that are available in your selected package in HD. They also nickel and dime you on receivers (first one is free, every one after you pay $5/month for). For me, what should be a $52.99/month package, once everything else is tacked on, becomes an $80/month package. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, I've pretty much eliminated any possibility of getting Dish Network. I've heard other bad things about them, and they want a two year committment.
