A friend of mine likes him and I'm going to see his show tonight. Never heard of him before. Just figured I'd go for the hell of it, a gig's a gig, right? So does anyone know what he's like?

Lame. Where's this artist from?
"Keller Williams" is the name of a small real estate brokerage in Washington.
He plays in Austin a lot. I've seen him a couple times and first let me say this about his music: I think it's really an acquired taste. I love that acoustic stuff, but his songwriting takes a little while to get into. I have all of his stuff and if you're interested in some purchases, buy his live cd "Stage" first. He has HEAVY jazz roots and most of his songs are infused with some kind of either old school or new school jazz beats.
He plays by himself most of the time and just uses a looping machine to create the full band sound. He's an amazing musician though, so if you're into that kind of acoustic/jazz/badass sound, then I'd check him out. He's different (and awesome) for sure.

Haha, I remember this show. I think I'd enjoy seeing him now more than I did then. I remember he did a song near the end where the sound guy behind the booth had a sax solo. Pretty cool, looking back on it. But yeah, his songwriting style isn't exactly my cup of tea.
