South Carolina. They called me up from reserves. Had me down, out and thinking, if there IS a god or whatever, praying I will do somethings better if only I amn't sent back to Iraq. I hate military life. Soon enough, it's true that my ankle isn't fully recovered from the skateboard accident occured early September and I'm not fit for deployment. Celebrated silently. Waiting for a thousand dollars promised and plane ticket back home to Illinois where I can continue my habits of playing music and helping my cousin with his seeds.

What the hell does amn't mean? Is that like Am not?

Why are you down, out and thinking if you know you aren't going anywhere?

Probably true. And Buffalohed will ridicule you to no end.

Good luck, tree. The battle you face at RM might be worse than those abroad.

Oh, and here's somethin':

If I hadn't taken off my cast and walked around on my broken ankle earlier than the doctor(s) ordered, I probably would've been fit for deployment.

I just sorta took it off on a whim one night, picking and prying for hours with an old fashioned can-opener.

Why would I ridicule tree_? He went to Iraq, which is even more of a hellhole than where I went. And just like him, I'd be scared shitless to get called back up to have to go on another deployment, and I'd be infinitely thankful if an injury prevented me from going. That is a lot of former Marines' worst nightmare.

Glad you don't have to go, man. I knew a guy, one of my first squad leaders, who got called back up to go to Iraq and ended up with severe brain damage and he spent almost a year in the hospital in Germany.
