dude this exact situation happened to me at work yesterday and i laughed because i thought my co-worker was joking and then he gets all shitty when i said 'wow i thought you were smarter than that'. Perhaps I too an an intolerant athiest asshole

It's not even Christianity in general, because I respect the hell out of the Pope--very intellectual man--and there's gads of Christians who have rational beliefs, but these southern Evangelicals are unbearable. They have totally irrational beliefs (among them, that Catholics aren't Christians), they're entirely disrespectful of other points of view as they feel that they must bring up Christianity in class even when it doesn't relate, and they insist on inviting you to things "just to check it out", as if an atheist really wants to go pal around at a Bible study filled with more people like you.

I dunno the whole argument has gotten old to me. I know that I don't bother with irrational people and that being 100% certain god is waiting to spoon feed you big macs is irrational so, I basically get bored at that point.
