I want to copy the 6/24/08 DVDs for my friend, but I only have a DVD/RW drive and no other. I would like to take the files off of the DVDs and put them on my computer so I can burn it for him, but at the end of each DVD it says that the files will become lossy if I rip them to my computer.....is this true? and anyone have a solution?

What are you trying to rip/burn them with?

Download Imgburn.

I haven't tried anything yet because I was afraid. I plan on using DVD Decrypter to rip the files and then just burning with Nero.

The 6/24 DVD was created by NYC Bitch Commitee, who sells videos for profit. The message at the end of the video is in reference to the official Cheech and Chong material. Because that material is official, it wouldnt be allowed on most torrent trackers. The message they are conveying is that if you attempt to remove that footage for torrent purposes it would become lossy. Im no video expert, so I dont know if that statement is true. However, that message doesnt pertain to you when trying to make a straight copy for trading friends....

Therefore, in order to burn a copy for your friend, do as John suggested and get IMGBurn. google is your friend and its free and easy.....

BTW, IMGBurn is superior to Decryptor, but why would you rip with Decryptor and then burn with Nero? Decryptor (and IMGBurn) will rip and burn....

Here's an another easy way! 8)

Use these 2 free apps!

DVD Decryptor: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/
DVD Shrink: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

Included are guides & all.

Only apps you need! :)

Extract the DVD using DVD Decrptor to your Hard Drive.
Either in an image file, .ISO & .MDS file;
Or rip the files to a VIDEO_TS DVD files (Vob's etc.. )

Now, want to get rid of those Cheech & Chong stuff?
Piece of cake!

Just open DVD Shrink! Open the image file or the VIDEO_TS files you have on your HD. When ready, click the Re-author button on the top. Drag the Title 1 or 2 file that's in the DVD Browser section. One that has the longest time. Say 00:58:33. Drag it to the DVD Structure (Re-authored DVD) window.

Then next to the Red X is to arrow buttons going left & right, right?
Click it. Another window comes up! Start frame, don't tough, but the End Frame, drag it to the end, where you would like the DVD to finish, to take off that extra footage you don't want to see.

After that, click the button on the top Backup! What would you like?
ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter?
or Hard Disk Folder (VIDEO_TS) .. where you will need Nero to burn?

That's about it! :)

ps .. if your into rental movies, DVD Decrypter isn't so good, with no updates to crack those. Try out Fab Decrypter! ;)

Cheers! :)

if there's no copy protection you can just use windows explorer to open the DVD, copy and paste the whole video_ts folder to your hard drive and burn.
