that's a great interview. Maybe the best one with eddie I ever read.

the 'we've always been fighting' something comment was really intriguing. They're such a hopeful, affirmative band. It'll be interesting to see how that works when they aren't in opposition anymore.

Really looking forward to hearing these positive, hopeful lyrics.
Some of the lyrics leaked earlier this week:
Tentatively titled: Open your heart
Take this time to open your heart, Show your feelings right from the start. Now is the time to spread love around, Show your thanks when you dream love found. That's why I'm saying,
Live you life and love who you are, Cause all of us were born to go far. Spread your love around everywhere, Let somebody know that you care, baby Some people think that they got it so hard But all of us were born to be stars. Now's the time to spread love around, Show your thanks when your dreams are found. And that's why I'm saying, Open your heart
and...
Tentatively titled: After the show (Nudge, nudge)
At the party after the show I see a face I wanna get to know (Wink wink, nudge nudge - tell me do you like the rude stuff) Show me how you're gonna make your move Boy you know you gotta lot to prove (Wink wink, nudge nudge - are you man enough?)
You got the message, you felt my stare And now you're walking from over there I ain't that easy, I'll make it hard for you (Oooh, I'll show you how)
I know you wanna have some fun Track me down, and get my number You could be the one (something on your mind) I know you wanna have some fun Track me down, and get my number You could be the one (something on your mind)

Eddie seems to have so much invested in Obama I can't see anyway he isn't going to be dissapointed. I don't think it's possible to live up to those expectations.

Good observation. Funny that Ed would seemingly do this when he hated when it was done to himself.
