Anyone else here like em? I'm too lazy to search, but I just finished listening to their self titled record and it didn't disappoint. I'm thinking of plunking down the cash for the Meanderthal LP

Meadnerthal has 4 or 5 good tracks on it. I'll buy it if I see it, I think. I've never heard the self-titled

I thought Meanderthal — the only one I've heard — was just alright. I didn't get the praise it received.

I gotta say, self-titled is growing on me.

Is that at that metal festival? I think they're playing with harvey milk soon, that sounds like a good billing. And I just read that their next tour will be with Dredg.

dredg is a serious step down from harvey milk.

I mean no one really gives a shit about either of those bands, but at least harvey milk doesn't seriously blow.

Yeah i'm gonna catch them at the Scion Rock Festival in Atlanta. Harvey Milk is playing there along with a shit ton other band.

I'm hearing mixed stories on the tickets for the Rockfest. Some people, including folks from Criminal Records, say 10,000 tickets were given out for a 4,000 person venue. Others swear up and down that they only gave out to capacity.

if you go, promise me that you'll at least see Wolves in the Throne Room.

I can't even look at that lineup for wanting to cry

I don't know about the capacity but I am going to try to be there early, but damn I don't want to be there at like 9am when the doors don't open till 12 and first band does not go on till 1pm. I'm sure they gave out more then capacity thinking not everyone will show up since it is a free show.

as for the schedule there are a lot of good bands playing at the same time :(

I do plan to see Wolves in the Throne room. They go on at 6:45 So i'm going to leave High on Fire early (since i've seen them like 4 times) and go check out WitTR for a while.

The problem is I kind of want to see Tyr,Neurosis, & Cryptopsy. They are not all on at the exact same time but part of their shows over lap so I'll probably not see all of any of those bands play but see at least 50% of each of their shows

:( should have been a two day thing so fewer bands had to play at the same time.

Sorry i'm way off topic here, I did listen to Meanderthal again last night and i'm excited to hear them blast that album! :bammer:

I thought they were pretty good live. Even as a three piece.

Their guitarist was ripping it up pretty good. Not bad at all for having to be the second band of the day to play. They got the crowd going.

ugh bad subject :(

Harvey Milk was playing on the smallest stage. It was going to work out perfect i was going to leave Toxic Holocaust upstairs and walk down through the area were Harvey Milk was playing and I was going to watch some of their set. Unfortunately by the time i got down there the room was at capacity and they would not let anyone else in. So i went outside and watched Pig Destroyer instead.

I missed wolves in the throne room because of the same shit :x :(

Indoor capacity issues were really the only complaint about the show though. I hate that i missed those two bands (no converge or tyr either for the same reason) but it was easily one of the coolest shows i've seen in a long time.

Torche had a lot of energy when they played It is a shame they had to play so early but the way the line up was that is just how it happened.

man I wouldn't complain too hard. Milk is awesome, but Pig Destroyer is probably the best grind band out there. I probably would have picked PD. Who did you wee instead of WITTR?

You didn't miss anything with Tyr, they are complete shit live. Of course, I think they are shit on record too, but some of my friends love their records and they also think they are shit live.

WITTR, on the other hand, is the best live black metal band I've ever seen. They are way better live than on record.

Also, I really enjoy Toxic Holocaust live. Not the kind of thing I listen to much at home, but fun to watch for sure.

The end of High on Fire and begining of Neurosis.

i too am not much of a fan of Toxic Holocaust's albums, but i thought their show was a lot of fun.
