I know everyone here has seen the Aaron Lewis cover of BLACK. I thought it was well done, you may or may not agree. Well, HERE he covers RELEASE. The video quality is shitty, but the sound is good. As many of you know, Release is my all time favorite song (by any band) and I really think Aaron does it justice. It isn't Eddie (of course) but for a cover version of RELEASE, there might not be a better version available. You be the judge...

I'm a huge fan of Aaron Lewis. I'll listen to some Staind stuff, but not often. I was fortunate enough to see 2 of his solo shows a couple years ago and they are a lot of fun. the 10-15 shows I've heard are awesome. he plays some random covers and plays them well.
I think I posted an mp3 of him doing Piano Man a while back. I have the full show at home but i'll look for the mp3. amazing voice.

Good stuff.
I admit I like Staint. They are from here, so I have a little connection to them. I saw Aaron at the casion a couple years back. He played Black, Release and Nothingman. good covers. He LOVES pearl jam. He talks about them like Eddie talks about The Who.

That's very cool. I'd love to hear Nothingman. And any other of his PJ covers.

These are more listenable than I thought they'd be but still doesn't compare to the real deal. What amazes me about Ed and Pearl Jam is how they can often cover a tune better than the original artist!
Also, the Even Flow cover cracked me up cause it sounded like Lewis remembers the lyrics almost as well as Ed does (which is to say not very well).

That guy hasn't shot himself yet????? No really, I hate that motherf*cker. He is like Scott Stapp or some crap.
If anyone is interested, see if you can find Seether's cover of Immortality. They sing it there way instead of trying to be PJ and it sounds pretty good.

This is a stupid comment. How could you possibly put the 2 in the same category. Aaron Lewis has never pulled any "I'm God" crap. All they do is release pretty solid album after another. If they aren't your thing, so be it. I haven't listened to them in awhile, but back a few years ago I got to see Staind live and they are a damn fine live band.
