Yeah, I don't understand the point of making a narrative film. The documentary is perfect. I watched it in a class, but the professor skipped over some of Little Edie's song sequences for some reason. I found those to be some of the most interesting aspects of the movie. The documentary says a lot about cinema, too, since most of what happens on screen wouldn't have happened if not for the presence of the cameras. It's great.

I really couldn't stand the documentary. It was bizarre and a strange world, but it was a really exhausting movie for me.

I hear this is on HBO in the US this weekend. Just a heads up. Looks great.

i'd agree there's no need for the musical, but the movie could be brilliant.

I watched it the other night. It's very good, but Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange are both brilliant. It's far and away the best thing Drew has ever done. She's astounding.

The casting was perfect and both their acting was spot on. Loved it.
