Yeah, I don't understand the point of making a narrative film. The documentary is perfect. I watched it in a class, but the professor skipped over some of Little Edie's song sequences for some reason. I found those to be some of the most interesting aspects of the movie. The documentary says a lot about cinema, too, since most of what happens on screen wouldn't have happened if not for the presence of the cameras. It's great.

I watched it the other night. It's very good, but Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange are both brilliant. It's far and away the best thing Drew has ever done. She's astounding.
